Team Work Really Works.................

Right from the childhood cricket to kabbadi, involves the building of a complete structured or unstructured group of mates who would work on a common goal achievement, forming team. A Team is a group of small number of people having complementary skills that are committed to a common purpose, along with specific performance goals and approach for which they hold themselves mutually accountable.
Teams outperform individuals acting alone, especially when performance requires multiple skills and experiences. Most people recognize capabilities of teams and have the common sense, but overlook opportunities for creating great teams. The successful teams have following 5 characteristics:
  • The common meaningful purpose that the team has helped shape.
  • The strong team decides the specific performance goals which are essential to achieve the purpose in hand.
  • The strong team also has a mix of technical, functional skills required to perform in the best way and if they lack some skills, they try to acquire those in the course of time.
  • The team members have strong commitment and dedication to complete the work in hand within the time limit.
  • They also have mutual accountability.

Firstly high standards of performance are set in a team in order to outrageously perform above all limits.  Secondly and most importantly, the SWOT analysis of each individual involved is needed to turn them into profit oriented curriculum. 
A single individual who cannot perform individually can out perform in a team. One could feel more protective and cared being in a team, which could be the major reason of increasing performance in a team. The major benefits of being in a team would include:
q  Teams are basic units for performance.
q  Any situation requiring multiple skills could be easily accomplished.
q  Teams are more flexible.
q  Teams are more productive than working groups.
q  Teams provide a more secure surrounding to outrage performance.
q  Teams increase productivity and performance multifold.
q  Team + Performance = Unbeatable combination.

As river has two apart ends, in the same way a team also has some demerits attached in its formation:
  1. Lack of conviction
  2. Personal discomfort and risk
  3. Weak organizational performance ethics
  4. Lack of significance in a team
  5. Inflexible team
  6. Lack of ease of expression
A cricket team without a commitment involved can never win a world cup, nor would we have celebrated the victory with joyous rides this year. The 300s would have never defeated the battalion of 1000s of warriors without a fine art of team work. Thus for an event to occur at the most significant result oriented edge a great work over team work is essential.
Teams include themes towards success…….. Believe it and go for it………….
